I just can’t help remembering Kevy singing Erin and I ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Reading this article made me cry.
I thought of that same night when I read that article, and while tearing up too.

People of the world, can we talk about this?

The Zulu word for ‘cow’ is also the zulu word for ‘vagina.’ When I asked a zulu guy why, he said ‘they’re both really valuable.’
:-)
Hahah. I love it.
is somebody reading fierce invalids…? in any event, i’ll refer to my cooter as a cow for a few weeks and let you know the result.
really?
wow, yeah, great add, i’m sure you guys will find no problem getting a roommate??!?
Yo yo yo, yo yo yo yo, we got maad cash, we got maad flow. So, we have this wonderful place that you, yes YOU, want to live in. You might ask, “why would I want to live in your place?” But we would say, “Shut up! Look around you!” Sorry perhaps that was a bit too much to start...

I'm lost
daphers:
I’m so lost in life right now. I’m taking a mini-break from packing up my room, since I’m moving back to Miami from DC in about 1.5 weeks. I don’t have money or a job. And I’ve been so unenthusiastic about finding a job becuse I have no idea what I want to do. One minute I want to go to med school, then decide I’ll apply to medical anthropology master’s programs, then maybe look into...
beavers
a group of caltech undergrads crashed the graduate housing rec room next to my apartment to drink. They CANNOT hold their alcohol or the volume of their voices. And they can’t NOT talk about exams. Nor can they stop figuratively jacking off to how smart they think they are.

i frequently fall in love with fictional characters.
hahaha, i have noticed this now that i think about it. {and i’m aware this this links to a poem not a book, and that ginsberg (why i want to go to nepal) references real people, not characters. i just read on the road for the first time, and now am reading other beat literature and feel better...

Editor's pick
an ex-resident of my apartment got J. Crew magazine. and i was flipping through it this month and one of bleak’s company’s pieces of jewelry was an editor’s pick. i don’t know it that’s a big deal at the office, but i thought that it was pretty neat.
goals for my second half of 23 (a la lindsey)
-finish thesis
-Go somewhere to wander— ideal= Himalayas. follow the beats and hippies and mystics to an eastern sanctuary?
-read good literature (a book/two weeks till i get faster)
- corollary: don’t become too spiritually connected to the characters
-live somewhere random, bay area? france? new zealand? new york? but need income?
-find a legit job, shit no, that’s...

My current life exactly
let’s do it.

You guys rock. Let’s all move to NY and create a commune of unemployed misfits. I’ll play the part of the poet, Erin can be the chemist, and Daphne will be the hot one. How’s that sound?

Was thinking about my uncertain future again, and looked up this little gem from Richard Brodhead that he e-mailed me back in the fall:
All you can do is keep as many options active as you feel truly attracted to, see what choices you have, make one, then trust to time and your own inner efforts to shape the whole life you want. “Oh, Time, Strength, Cash, and Patience!” as they say in...
